OUR HISTORY

UNLAD SHIP MANNING & MANAGEMENT CORP. is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Republic of the Philippines in 1991 and was issued its first License to Operate as a Manning and Ship Management Company by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on January 24, 1992 with the primary objective of crewing/manning and ocean-going vessels and acting as managers of Filipino Seafarers.

The establishment of UNLAD SHIPPING was made possible to meet the immediate need of providing quality Filipino seafarers to its shipping principals worldwide.

This company is committed to provide its principal/s with qualified, well trained, physically and mentally fit ship personnel to ensure safe ship operations and protection of the marine environment.

MEMBERSHIPS & ASSOCIATIONS

The company is part of the so-called "MARINERS’ SYSTEM" which comprise our own Maritime Institutions. The "MARINERS’ POLYTECHNIC COLLEGES/FOUNDATION" located in Baras, Canaman and Naga City Camarines Sur, and in Rawis, Legaspi City, Albay in the Bicol Region about 500 kilometers away from Manila and Training Center “ the "MARINERS” POLYTECHNIC TRAINING CENTER" in Metro Manila which specialized in the STCW Courses and situated along the coastwise of Cavite, about 20 kilometers away from Manila. TO EDUCATE, TRAIN AND EMPLOY SEAFARERS is the guiding motto of our Mariners System founded by the late Commodore Jaime C. Jimenez, a retired naval officer and Chief Marine Engineer.

Since the establishment of UNLAD SHIPPING, we were able to provide our commitment for employment and the proper training required to our own Maritime graduates and successfully comply the standard requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) on the Quality and Training of Seafarers.

Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges /Foundation (MPC/F) has risen to be one of the most reputable institutions in the Bicol Region. It consists of three institutions specifically in Legaspi, Albay; Naga City; and Canaman, Camarines Sur. MPC/F is the Alma Mater of an ever-increasing number of competent merchant marine officers, ships’ crew, custom brokers, radio and other mass media personnel, hotel and restaurant managers and personnel, technical and vocational workers, and other gainfully- employed professionals. Mariners’ Polytechnic Training Center (MPTC)

Mariners’ Polytechnic Training Center (MPTC) is one of the pioneer training institutions in the country since 1983. MPTC is aided by highly qualified trainors providing lectures and practical instructions needed to develop competent and professional seafarers, hotel and restaurant personnel, and tourism personnel. It has also forged linkages with the Welding Industry of the Philippines for training requirements of offshore personnel for welders and fishermen.
